French President Emmanuel Macron has released footage of a special operation involving the interception of a Russian "shadow fleet" oil tanker in the North Sea.
As reported by Hvylya, the president announced the maneuver on his page on the social media platform X.
Belgian armed forces, operating jointly with the French military, carried out the seizure of the vessel, which is subject to international restrictions.
Emmanuel Macron described the operation as a significant blow to illegal Russian oil export schemes and highlighted the coordinated efforts of the allies.
"In the North Sea, our French Navy helicopters contributed last night to the seizure by Belgian forces of an oil tanker under international sanctions," the French leader stated.
He also emphasized the shared determination of European nations to counter Moscow and deprive it of the resources used to conduct combat operations.
"Europeans are determined to cut off sources of financing for Russia's aggressive war in Ukraine by enforcing sanctions," Macron concluded.
