National energy company Ukrenergo has stated that the potential suspension of emergency aid from Slovakia poses no threat to the stability of Ukraine's energy system.

As reported by Hvylya, citing the Ukrenergo press service, the operator noted that Ukraine last requested emergency assistance from the Slovak side over a month ago, involving insignificant volumes. Overall, such flows are rare and short-term in nature.

"The potential suspension of emergency electricity supplies from Slovakia will have no impact on the situation in Ukraine's unified energy system," the company emphasized.

Ukrenergo underscored that it has not yet received official documentation from the Slovak operator SEPS regarding the termination of the mutual emergency assistance agreement. Both companies remain members of ENTSO-E and are obligated to adhere to European regulations.

However, on February 23, 2026, the Ukrainian side received a letter from SEPS proposing a review of payment terms under the current agreement. Ukrenergo has promised to analyze the proposal in the near future.

Energy officials also assured that there are no restrictions on commercial electricity imports. Capacity for cross-border flows continues to be allocated through auctions in standard mode.
