Ukrainian nuclear power plants were forced to reduce generation output following another massive Russian attack. Targeting critical transmission infrastructure, the enemy destabilized the power grid.
The Ministry of Energy confirmed the situation, Hvylya reports, citing the ministry's statement.
According to the ministry, the aggressor's primary targets were key energy system nodes.
"The enemy launched a massive drone and missile strike on substations and 750 kV and 330 kV overhead lines," the statement read.
Damage to high-voltage networks prevented nuclear stations from delivering full power. Engineers are currently attempting to stabilize the system. To balance the grid, Ukraine is importing electricity from partner countries and implementing strict consumption limits.
Grid operator Ukrenergo ordered an increase in the volume of power cuts.
Russia's Massive Energy Strike: Nuclear Plants Cut Output
"Emergency power outages have been introduced in most Ukrainian regions. The main cause is the aftermath of the massive attack on power plants and transmission substations," the ministry explained.
As previously reported, power supply limits were increased in two Kyiv districts.
