Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced upcoming personnel changes within the Air Force. The decisions will impact specific regions and units responsible for defending against Russian attack drones.

The head of state made the announcement during his evening address on February 6, reports "Hvylya".

According to the president, the short-range air defense component tasked with countering "Shaheds" requires significant improvement. While defensive lines are well-established in some sectors, others need substantial work. Officials plan to scale the experience of successful units across the entire defense system.

"There will be personnel changes there—for now, in certain regions and units, specifically regarding protection against Russian Shaheds. The short-range air defense component—specifically for countering attack drones—must operate much more powerfully and avoid the problems currently present," Zelensky emphasized.

The Minister of Defense and the Commander of the Air Force have already received relevant instructions. The president stressed that all effective solutions must be implemented as quickly as possible, noting that every day counts.

The head of state paid particular attention to the energy situation and the critical heating status in the capital. Currently, over 1,100 buildings in Kyiv remain without heat. Communities from across the country and state-owned companies are providing assistance to the city.

"The situation in the capital is very difficult, still. Over eleven hundred houses are without heating. People in these buildings must receive more assistance," the president noted.

Zelensky also reported on the return of the Ukrainian delegation from Abu Dhabi. A meeting will be held tomorrow regarding sensitive aspects of the negotiations that could not be discussed over the phone. Ukraine is preparing for upcoming trilateral meetings and negotiations with European partners.

Additionally, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk is currently visiting the United States, where he has already met with Speaker Johnson. The main topics of dialogue are support for Ukrainian defense and the negotiation process.
