The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched a massive aerial operation across Lebanon, striking numerous Hezbollah targets. The bombardment followed emergency evacuation warnings, with the Israeli military urging residents in dozens of villages across the south and east, as well as occupants of specific buildings in Beirut, to leave the danger zones immediately.
This escalation follows a forceful statement from IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir. The general emphasized that Israel will not cease its offensive until the militant group is fully disarmed. According to Zamir, Lebanese authorities ignored all calls for a peaceful resolution, prompting the military to act decisively with United States support.
Zamir explicitly identified Iran as the primary target, noting that the campaign will only conclude once both Tehran and its Lebanese proxies suffer a crushing blow that eliminates future threats.
