On March 11, 2026, Hezbollah launched a massive rocket attack on northern Israel, officially announcing the start of a new military operation dubbed "Devoured Windstorm."

According to initial estimates by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the Lebanese militant group fired approximately 100 rockets. Iran's Fars news agency described the assault as a massive launch of ballistic missiles, with numerous projectiles seen exploding simultaneously in the skies over Israel.

In response to the barrage, an Israeli military spokesperson vowed continued retaliation, stating that the IDF will keep striking Hezbollah until the organization is completely disarmed.

The severe escalation in northern Israel unfolds alongside heightened rhetoric from Tehran. Speaking to Al Jazeera, a senior Iranian military official warned that if Washington makes a "strategic mistake," another global maritime route will be placed in a situation similar to the Strait of Hormuz.

Furthermore, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a statement claiming that the ongoing war was ignited by the "Zionist regime and the US." Pezeshkian asserted that the only way to end the conflict is by recognizing Iran's legitimate rights, fulfilling the payment of reparations, and securing firm international guarantees against future aggression.
