Ukrainian specialists have destroyed a modern communication system that allowed Russian strike drones to enter northern regions from the territory of Belarus.

As reported by Hvylya, Mykhailo Fedorov shared this information during a meeting with journalists. According to the minister, the destruction of the enemy infrastructure has significantly strengthened the defense of the capital.

"We managed to eliminate the Mesh network used by Shaheds in the north, which has had a positive impact on the defensive capabilities of Kyiv and the central part of Ukraine," he emphasized.

Details regarding the liquidation of the network and technical specifics of the operation have not been disclosed.

Sergey "Flash" Beskrestnov, an advisor to the Minister of Defense, explained the principle of the enemy system in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda. In a Mesh network, all drones act as repeaters for one another; however, the entire group must be connected to Russian operators to coordinate the flight.

"Such control points exist within Russia and were present on the territory of Belarus. What does it look like? It is an ordinary mobile operator tower, or another structure, 70-80 meters high, equipped with powerful antennas directed toward Ukraine," the expert explained.

According to him, it is through these high-altitude nodal points that all information from the drones flows uninterrupted to the main control center.

President Volodymyr Zelensky previously reported on December 26 regarding the presence of specialized border equipment in Belarus that assists in guiding Shaheds toward targets in western Ukrainian regions.
