President Volodymyr Zelensky announced preparations for a crucial trilateral meeting scheduled for early March in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The talks will focus on establishing tangible security guarantees for Ukraine.
As reported by "Hvylya", the Head of State made the announcement during his address marking the 1,464th day of the war.
Zelensky noted he had held discussions with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, "Servant of the People" faction leader David Arakhamia, and representatives of the US President, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
"There is increased readiness for the next trilateral format. Most likely, the next meeting will be in the Emirates, specifically in Abu Dhabi. We expect this to take place in early March. We need to finalize everything achieved regarding real security guarantees and prepare for a meeting at the leaders' level. This specific format can resolve a great deal," the President emphasized.
Zelensky underscored that the position of Ukraine and its partners remains unchanged: the war must end. However, Russia is currently showing no readiness for peace.
"There is no sign yet that Putin is stopping his war machine. On the contrary, he is preparing to continue fighting," the Head of State noted, adding that only tough sanctions against Russian oil, energy resources, and the banking sector can halt the aggressor.
Beyond the diplomatic track, the President discussed energy issues. A conversation took place with First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko regarding the strategy for restoring and protecting the energy system. The strategy is scheduled to be finalized and approved by March 1.
Zelensky also highlighted the successful performance of air defense forces: over 30 Russian missiles were intercepted today, with the majority targeting energy infrastructure.
