The Ukrainian military orchestrated a fiery night for Russian forces on April 6, as drones successfully breached Novorossiysk, targeting a warship and strategic oil facilities.
As reported by Hvylya, details of the nighttime operation were revealed by the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS), Robert Brovdi, who uses the call sign "Madyar".
According to Brovdi, drones from the first SBS center struck the Admiral Grigorovich frigate right in the Novorossiysk port. This operation was planned and coordinated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The ship actively defended itself, firing anti-aircraft missiles as the drones approached their target, but to no avail. Ukrainian intelligence is currently establishing the exact consequences and the extent of the damage to the Kalibr missile carrier.
"It is not us striking, it is the willow striking: missiles miss completely, drones hit the target," Brovdi commented on the attack's results.
Alongside the frigate, the Sivash floating drilling rig was also hit. It was attacked by drones from the Reid unit, coordinated by the Ukrainian Navy.
The SBS commander also mocked statements by Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, who routinely attempted to attribute all nighttime explosions and fires in the port to falling debris.
In addition to the warship, Sheskharis, southern Russia's largest oil terminal, was attacked the same night in Novorossiysk. This facility is critical to the aggressor's economy, as up to 20% of all Russian seaborne oil exports pass through it.
