President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to Recep Tayyip Erdogan's proposal to hold peace talks in Istanbul during his visit to Turkey, while also discussing joint gas extraction and sharing military technology.

As reported by Hvylya, the head of state announced this on his social media platforms.

According to Zelensky, he discussed ways to end the war with his Turkish counterpart. Erdogan initiated a platform for negotiations, and the Ukrainian side expressed its readiness to join the process.

"We need peace. We need negotiations," Zelensky emphasized, adding that Kyiv is ready for a meeting at the leadership level in any format.

Beyond diplomacy, the presidents agreed on major economic and security steps. Specifically, this involves the joint development of gas fields and energy infrastructure. Ukraine also plans to share its military experience, technology, and expertise with Turkey. Teams from both countries will finalize the details of these agreements in the coming days.

During the visit, Zelensky also met with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to discuss the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East. The Patriarch noted the approaching Easter holiday, stating that he prays for the peaceful resolution of all conflicts and supports those currently suffering.
