U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the United States possesses a virtually "unlimited" supply of mid-level munitions. In a post on his Truth Social platform, he emphasized that current reserves allow for sustained and highly effective military operations, claiming that American weaponry far surpasses foreign counterparts.
While describing the state of mid-tier hardware as robust, the President offered a more measured assessment of top-tier strategic assets. He characterized the high-end arsenal as stable but "far from ideal," noting that a significant portion of these sophisticated stocks is currently deployed outside the United States.
Criticism of the Biden Administration
Trump used the announcement to launch a scathing critique of his predecessor, Joe Biden. According to the current occupant of the White House, the previous administration exhausted massive budget resources and transferred vast quantities of high-tech equipment to Ukraine without ensuring the timely replenishment of domestic stockpiles.
The "P.T. Barnum" Metaphor
In his address, Trump reprised an ironic comparison, labeling Volodymyr Zelensky the "P.T. Barnum of Ukraine." Phineas Taylor Barnum was a legendary 19th-century American showman and circus founder known for aggressive marketing and an unparalleled ability to sell any product. Trump first employed this metaphor in 2025 to highlight the Ukrainian leader’s effectiveness in persuading international partners to provide large-scale financial and military aid.
The President concluded by stating that, thanks to his military modernization efforts during his first term and ongoing initiatives, the United States is fully equipped and ready to achieve victory.
