American and Israeli forces have carried out a strike on the office of Iran's Assembly of Experts in the city of Qom. The Tasnim news agency reported the incident on Tuesday, describing it as yet another attack on the nation’s highest state institutions.

Tasnim, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), also confirmed an overnight bombardment of the Assembly's complex in Tehran, located in the former parliament building.

In a parallel report, the Telegram channel Zed TV stated that an airstrike targeted an official meeting of the Assembly of Experts, which had been convened to select the next Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic. The channel claims there are numerous dead and wounded among the members of the body.

The Assembly of Experts is a powerful religious body mandated by the Iranian constitution to appoint the Supreme Leader and oversee his activities. Reports of these attacks come amid a sharp escalation of tensions following the death of Ali Khamenei. According to official statements, the process to choose his successor had already been initiated.
