Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naini, a spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has announced the results of the first 48 hours of Iran's retaliatory operations. According to the agency, strikes against American military facilities and naval vessels in the region have resulted in more than 650 U.S. service members killed or wounded.
As reported by Tasnim, Naini emphasized that while Washington is predictably concealing the extent of the damage, Iranian intelligence possesses confirmed data from the battlefield. The General claimed that the reports reflect the "true scale" of the impact on American forces.
The primary focus of the offensive targeted the infrastructure of the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet in Bahrain. Reports indicate that missile attacks and drone swarms on a key command center incapacitated approximately 160 personnel. Simultaneously, Iranian forces engaged maritime targets, inflicting heavy damage on the combat support ship MST.
Furthermore, General Naini stated that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was targeted by four cruise missiles while positioned 300 kilometers off the coast of Chabahar. Following the strikes, the U.S. carrier strike group was reportedly forced to alter its course and retreat to the southeastern Indian Ocean.
The IRGC command described these actions as a legitimate response to "aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime," signaling a readiness to further escalate the intensity of their strikes if necessary.
