U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the American military operation against Iran was initially projected to last four to five weeks, but emphasized that Washington is prepared to sustain hostilities as long as necessary to achieve its objectives.

As reported by Hvylya, the President made these remarks during a telephone interview with the Daily Mail from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Trump stressed that the U.S. military is already ahead of its original timeline and is inflicting colossal damage on the adversary.

"We will win easily. We are already well ahead of our time projections, but however long it takes, that is fine," the U.S. President stated.

According to Trump, the U.S. armed forces possess sufficient capabilities for a long-term campaign should the tactical situation in the Middle East demand it.

"We predicted four to five weeks from the start, but we have the ability to go much longer. We will do it," Trump added.

Previously, Trump explicitly indicated that while troops are currently delivering a "crushing blow" to Iran, the primary phase of the offensive and the "big wave" are still to come.

On Saturday, February 28, the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran, conducting coordinated strikes on nuclear, military, and government facilities. The mission has been codenamed "Roar of the Lion."
