Ukraine’s allies are set to meet in January to finalize security guarantee plans following a ceasefire. Discussions will include the potential deployment of foreign troops on Ukrainian soil.

The announcement came from an Élysée Palace official, Euractiv reported.

This statement follows fresh talks between Washington and Kyiv that produced a 20-point plan to end the war. The document is currently under review in Moscow.

French President Emmanuel Macron aims to have the partner group, known as the "Coalition of the Willing," finalize support details as early as next month. Western capitals are currently awaiting Russia’s response to the proposed peace plan.

"The Ukrainians, Europeans, and Americans have agreed, and we believe it is now up to Russia to give a clear answer," the source noted.

The guarantees are expected to be settled in operational terms, providing Ukraine with a "clear" picture of what long-term support will look like once active hostilities end.

Dozens of nations, led by France and the UK, have spent months preparing these so-called "security guarantees." The package includes troops on the ground, financial aid, weapons supplies, and other tools designed to deter Russia from future aggression.

However, certain guarantees—particularly from the United States—remain under discussion. President Volodymyr Zelensky plans to visit Mar-a-Lago soon to meet with Donald Trump and finalize the plan.
