Russian occupiers launched a targeted attack on Odesa’s energy infrastructure on the night of December 26, striking two DTEK Odesa Grids facilities in the south of the region.
DTEK's press service reported significant damage to equipment, warning that restoration efforts will take considerable time to bring the system back into full operation. Repair crews have already begun emergency work to restore power to consumers as quickly as possible.
Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, stated that the enemy terrorized the region throughout the night with attack drones. The strikes targeted the Izmail and Odesa districts, as well as the city of Odesa itself.
In addition to the energy grid, the attacks damaged port infrastructure, administrative buildings, and machinery, sparking fires at several impact sites.
Since early December, Russian occupation forces have been launching near-daily strikes on the Odesa region, systematically targeting ports and energy facilities.
