President Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, focusing on the schedule for upcoming negotiations and the supply of missiles for air defense systems.
As reported by Hvylya, the Ukrainian leader announced the details in a statement on social media.
Trump's associates, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, also participated in the call. Zelensky expressed gratitude to the American side for their active engagement in the process of ending the war.
Special attention was paid to the PURL program, which allows Ukraine to purchase missiles for air defense systems. According to the president, this winter has been the most difficult for the country, making American assistance critical for protecting lives.
"We discussed issues that our representatives will work on tomorrow at a bilateral meeting in Geneva, as well as preparations for the next full-team meeting of negotiating teams in a trilateral format at the very beginning of March," the head of state noted.
Kyiv expects these steps to pave the way for direct negotiations at the level of state leaders. Donald Trump supported the proposed sequence of actions.
"This is the only way to resolve all complex and sensitive issues and finally end the war," Zelensky concluded.
