First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko announced an unprecedented financial support package from Norwegian partners. This year, Oslo is allocating $9 billion to Kyiv.

As reported by "Hvylya", the government official announced this on social media following a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, who arrived in Kyiv for a visit.

According to Svyrydenko, these funds are part of the Nansen Program and will be directed toward both military and civilian needs.

"Norway is providing Ukraine with $9 billion in funding for this year. This is another package of military and civilian aid within the framework of the Nansen Program. I thank the Prime Minister of Norway for this announcement," she stated.

During the negotiations, special attention was paid to energy security and strengthening air defense. Norway has already made the largest contributions to the PURL initiative, which significantly strengthens Ukraine's skies.

Regarding energy, the assistance will be comprehensive:

- Financing of gas imports.

- Grants to the Energy Support Fund.

- Supply of equipment for distributed generation to be operated at Naftogaz Group facilities.

The parties also discussed prospective investment projects that Norway can support through Norfund instruments.

"My meeting today with Jonas Gahr Støre was a continuation of our cooperation, which has been ongoing since our joint trip to Chernihiv in the first months of the war. All these years, Norway has been providing us with extraordinary assistance," Svyrydenko summarized.
