NABU and SAPO have exposed an organized criminal group that included incumbent MPs from the "Servant of the People" party. According to sources, the lawmakers systematically received illicit payments in exchange for voting in the Verkhovna Rada.
This was reported by Ukrainska Pravda and ZN.UA, citing sources in law enforcement agencies and the "Servant of the People" faction.
According to UP, four MPs have been notified of suspicion: Yevhen Pyvovarov, Ihor Nehulevskyi, Olha Savchenko, and Yurii Kisel. At the same time, ZN.UA reports only three — Pyvovarov, Nehulevskyi, and Kisel. All were charged under Art. 368 of the Criminal Code (acceptance of an undue benefit by an official).
The legal filings also list Articles 255 (creation of a criminal organization) and 369 (offering an undue benefit). It is possible these charges will be added when pre-trial restrictions are determined.
Reports regarding Yurii Koriavchenkov (Yuzik) are conflicting. ZN.UA claims he has left Ukraine. However, UP sources within the faction deny this and note that Koriavchenkov has not been served with a notice of suspicion. Faction secretary Taras Melnychuk is currently being questioned.
Earlier, ZN.UA reported that NABU had wiretapped Kisel's office, where MPs were receiving "envelopes." Detectives reportedly uncovered the "cash window" for these shadow payments.
