US President Donald Trump addressed the nation amid a surge in American military activity off the coast of Venezuela.

According to Hvylya, the speech was broadcast by the American news channel Fox News.

In his remarks, Trump bypassed several anticipated topics. Surprisingly, he made no mention of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, despite typically addressing the issue in nearly every public appearance. There was also no word on negotiations between the US and Ukrainian or Russian representatives.

Furthermore, the President ignored the situation in Venezuela, even though the country had been at the center of international attention just before his December 18 speech, and he had made provocative statements on the matter only a day earlier.

Key Messages

During his address to the American people, Donald Trump sharply criticized the previous administration, claiming he inherited a nation in a state of chaos.

He presented an extensive list of grievances regarding the Biden era, including: lax border control, the participation of biological men in women's sports, high crime rates, extremely unfavorable trade deals, and corruption within federal government agencies.

"Almost a year ago, I took over a country in total disarray. And I am fixing it," the President stated.

Trump asserted that nearly one year into his new term, he has successfully addressed these issues. He highlighted his administration's economic milestones, claiming success in the fight against inflation despite public frustration over the high cost of living.

Maintaining his habitual critique of the Biden administration, the President emphasized his customs policies and stricter immigration controls. He also announced a symbolic payment of $1,776 to military personnel.

Donald Trump addressed the nation

Trump noted record military recruitment numbers under his leadership, contrasting them with the Biden administration’s results last year, which he described as among the worst in American military history.

According to the President, when he took office, inflation had hit a nearly 50-year high, and prices were exorbitant. Now, he claims, the situation is shifting: prices are falling, household incomes are rising, jobs are being created, and investments are pouring in. Trump declared that the results achieved in just one year have exceeded all expectations, stating that the country simply needed a new leader.

"It has never been like this! A year ago, our country was dead. Absolutely dead. It was practically on the brink of collapse. And now we are the fastest-growing country. Every leader is saying it," Trump said.

However, polls indicate that only 33% of Americans approve of Trump's economic policies.

Concluding his speech, the White House chief stated that the US is "coming back stronger than ever," claimed the nation is now respected by all, and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Notably, an unusual concentration of US military forces was observed off the Venezuelan coast prior to the speech. This led many experts to speculate that Venezuela would be the primary focus of his address.

Training combat aircraft from a naval base, transport planes, an AWACS long-range radar aircraft, and several French fighter jets were spotted in US airspace.

Particular attention was drawn to the flight of a "Doomsday" aircraft—a specialized mobile command center designed to lead the nation during extreme emergencies, such as nuclear war or the destruction of ground-based command centers.

Earlier, we reported that the US and Russia are scheduled to hold negotiations in Miami this weekend.
