President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on social media on April 3, 2026, that Russian forces suffered their highest monthly losses of the war this March.

"Only through our drone strikes, 33,988 Russian soldiers were killed or severely wounded, and another 1,363 occupiers were eliminated by artillery and other strikes," Zelensky stated. "That means over 35,000 Russian casualties in a month, and these are clearly confirmed losses: we have video evidence of every single strike in our system."

The president thanked Ukrainian troops for their accuracy, specifically highlighting the Security Service of Ukraine's Special Group "A", the "Magyar Birds" unit, the Border Guards' "Phoenix" special unit, Lazar's Group, and the 95th Air Assault Brigade as the most effective units in utilizing drones.

According to Zelensky, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported on the combat results of all frontline units. Ukraine has compiled clear, verified reports for every sector and category of enemy engagement, and is prepared to share this data with international partners.

"Effectively, the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine have stripped the occupier of the ability to dictate the situation on the frontline," the president noted.

He also emphasized a significant increase in the destruction of Russian air defense systems, with 274 units hit in March alone. Ukrainian forces achieved tangible results in destroying Russian ammunition depots and military logistics. The Defense Ministry and the Armed Forces plan to release a detailed public report on the March figures.

Zelensky and the Defense Minister also outlined several strategic tasks for the coming weeks. They are preparing decisions to strengthen the Ukrainian infantry, improve the military contract system, and address the issue of unauthorized absence (AWOL) with measures that yield real results.

Additionally, Ukraine is working on initiatives to scale up the export capabilities of its domestic weapons manufacturers and establish joint production ventures with international partners.

"Thank you to the Defense Forces for the results! Glory to Ukraine!" Zelensky concluded.
