The morning of April 3 began with a massive Russian missile and drone attack, forcing emergency power outages across several Ukrainian regions as the president warned of severe threats to water supplies and railways.

According to Hvylya, the morning strike targeted the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, and several other regions, claiming the lives of at least two people.

Falling debris and direct hits caused fatalities in the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions. Rescuers pulled victims from under the rubble in Korosten, where around 15 houses sustained damage. In Kharkiv and Kherson, drones struck civilians and vehicles directly, injuring minibus passengers and pedestrians. Sumy faced an attack by a Russian Molniya drone, which hit a shopping mall.

Following the damage, the Ukrenergo grid operator implemented emergency power outages. Officials promised to restore electricity as soon as the threat passes and the system stabilizes. Energy workers have urged all residents with power to consume electricity as sparingly as possible.

Amid the attack, President Volodymyr Zelensky shared alarming intelligence updates. Russian forces realize that striking energy infrastructure in the summer is less effective, prompting a shift in targets.

"Judging by the documents we received from intelligence, the Russians will strike logistics, including railways and other facilities. They will also target water supplies," the president emphasized.

According to Zelensky, local authorities must urgently protect pumping stations, dams, and bridges. Every mayor must clearly understand their city's vulnerabilities to ensure residents are not left without basic necessities such as drinking water and sanitation.
