The European Union is currently unable to finalize a massive €90 billion loan for Ukraine and is delaying the adoption of a new sanctions package against Russia.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced the hold-up during a visit to Bucha on March 31, reports Hvylya.
She candidly explained that internal EU hurdles are preventing the swift approval of both crucial decisions: the financial assistance and the 20th package of restrictions.
"Unfortunately, I cannot bring you good news today that this loan will be granted," the official emphasized.
European policymakers are actively working to overcome these internal disagreements. Kallas expressed hope that a final positive consensus will be reached before the next European Council meeting.
