U.S. President Donald Trump has issued another stark prediction regarding the trajectory of combat operations in eastern Ukraine. In an interview with Fox News radio, he stated that Kyiv risks losing control over the remaining Ukrainian-held areas of the Donetsk region.
Speaking with the host, Trump suggested that further Russian advances are merely a matter of time.
When pressed on whether this implies the potential loss of the entire region, the President noted that the trend of retreat is evident, emphasizing: "They are losing land." He added that the primary objective, in his view, must be to stop the death toll among civilians and soldiers.
Trump also highlighted the scale of casualties, claiming that approximately 25,000 Ukrainian and Russian troops have been killed in fighting over recent weeks. He argued that such figures indicate the conflict is approaching a critical threshold and has "gotten out of control."
