President Volodymyr Zelensky has received a detailed report from the Ukrainian negotiation team following meetings in Switzerland. Kyiv anticipates a new, productive round of negotiations as early as February 2026 and stands ready for a meeting at the leaders' level.
As reported by "Hvylya", the Head of State announced this on his social media channels.
According to the President, the briefing covered aspects that could not be discussed over the phone. He noted the team's "precise work" within their directives and their patience in communicating with the Russian side, which behaves in a manner that is "far from always simple or adequate."
Zelensky highlighted the constructive role of US representatives, noting that Ukraine fully supports this approach.
"We believe that real opportunities to end the war with dignity remain, and the world's ability to pressure the aggressor can help significantly," the President stated.
The Ukrainian side has already formulated responses to the most complex issues ahead of the next meeting in the trilateral format. Priorities for the team have been defined, and separate efforts are underway to organize a meeting of state leaders.
"It is the leadership format that can become decisive in many ways, and Ukraine is ready for such a format. We continue working to ensure leaders are ready to meet and resolve issues that remain unresolved at the team level," Zelensky emphasized.
The President also expects progress on humanitarian issues, specifically noting that a prisoner of war exchange should become possible in the very near future. Regarding European partners, Zelensky noted that Europe's role in ending the war must increase.
