US President Donald Trump has set a 10-day deadline to clarify the situation regarding the nuclear deal with Iran.

As reported by Hvylya, he made the statement while speaking at the inaugural meeting of his Peace Council in Washington on February 19.

Listing his achievements, Trump noted that the Middle East has generally stabilized, leaving the Iranian issue as the final unresolved matter. However, the American leader warned of catastrophic consequences should diplomacy fail.

"So now we may have to take another step, maybe not. Maybe we make a deal. You'll know about it, likely in the next 10 days," Trump declared.

He characterized recent negotiations as "good" but emphasized that it has been made abundantly clear to Tehran: they cannot possess nuclear weapons.

The White House chief summarized the US position with a stark warning: "As you know, good talks are underway. It has been proven over many years that making a meaningful deal with Iran is not easy. We must make a meaningful deal, or bad things will happen."

Trump's statement comes against the backdrop of an unprecedented buildup of American military power in the Middle East. According to Western media and outlets like Axios, the Pentagon has deployed over 50 modern fighter jets—including F-22s and F-35s—and directed a second carrier strike group led by the USS Gerald Ford to the region.

Sources in Washington report that US forces are already on high alert and could strike Iranian targets in the coming days. Intelligence reports indicate that Tehran has responded by urgently reinforcing its nuclear facilities, constructing "concrete sarcophagi" over them and burying tunnel entrances under thick layers of soil.

Despite the aggressive rhetoric and preparations for a large-scale operation—which Trump has already discussed with advisors Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff—diplomatic channels remain open. The latest round of indirect talks in Geneva, which concluded on Tuesday, drew mixed assessments: Iran's Foreign Ministry claimed "progress on principles," while US sources dismissed the meeting as hollow, yielding no real results.

Earlier, it was reported that the Pentagon is amassing aircraft carriers and aviation near Iran's borders.
