An urgent closed-door meeting of the Headquarters involving military command took place in Ukraine, focused on the protection of energy infrastructure. Simultaneously, strict restrictions on electricity consumption were announced for the coming day.
As reported by "Hvylya", this was announced by Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and the press service of NEC "Ukrenergo".
According to Shmyhal, the meeting was convened on the President's instruction. The discussion centered on preparing for potential future Russian attacks and strengthening active air defense in Kyiv, particularly for energy facilities.
"Most of the information is not public. We identified and prioritized other critical infrastructure objects requiring protection. We coordinated with ministries, city authorities, and energy workers. Everyone received the appropriate tasks," the minister noted.
At the same time, transmission system operator "Ukrenergo" warned that restrictions would be in effect nationwide on February 12. Hourly outage schedules will be applied for households, along with power limitation schedules for industrial consumers. These measures will remain in force throughout the day.
The company emphasized: "The reason for introducing restrictions is the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on the energy system. Attention! The situation in the energy system may change."
Consumers are urged to check current outage schedules on the official resources of regional energy companies and to use electricity sparingly when it is available.
