Electronic warfare expert Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov has warned of a new tactic being used by Shahed drones. The UAVs have begun dropping PTM-3 anti-tank mines, which are now nearly impossible to detect due to weather conditions.
As Hvylya reports, the expert shared the details on his Telegram channel.
According to the specialist, incidents of remote minelaying are being recorded across the country. These traps are often set directly next to downed or crashed drones.
"Attention, everyone! We are recording instances of Shaheds dropping PTM-3 mines in various parts of the country. Sometimes specific areas of ground are mined, but often these traps are set near the crash site of a Shahed. The intent is for SES or police vehicles to approach the drone and trigger an explosion. The mine is equipped with a magnetic fuse," "Flash" emphasized.
The expert urged drivers to avoid drone crash sites.
"We have known about Shaheds dropping mines for a long time. So what has changed? Why the increase in activity? Deep snow! Previously, these mines could be spotted visually; now they are hidden. I advise against approaching a Shahed in a vehicle, especially along its flight path. The photo shows the mine container carried by the Shahed. The mines are square-shaped," he explained.
We previously reported that the Ukrainian Navy has struck over 50 strategic Russian targets.
