The world is intensifying pressure on the aggressor following yet another massive attack on Ukrainian cities. Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset called the strikes on Kyiv and Lviv region "another barbaric act," while UN Secretary General António Guterres condemned Moscow's actions that led to civilian casualties.
As reported by "Hvylya," this information comes from Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service.
On January 12, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency session on the situation in Ukraine and Russia's use of the "Oreshnik" missile. The initiative came from Latvia with support from France, the UK, and other partners. The UK has also announced the allocation of 200 million pounds sterling to train its troops for possible deployment in Ukraine after a ceasefire.
Sanctions Against Russia
The economic noose around the Kremlin is tightening. Last month, Russian oil companies were forced to cut production by more than 100,000 barrels per day due to sales problems with key clients - India and China. This decline became a record since mid-2024.
The "parallel import" channel is also rapidly closing. For January-November 2025, goods worth only $20.9 billion entered Russia without the rights holders' permission. This is 45% less than during the same period last year.
The crisis has also hit internal stability. Russian demand for domestic tourism in 2025 decreased by approximately 10%. Krasnodar Krai suffered the most - minus 15%. Anapa's statistics are telling: if the city received 5.5 million tourists in 2024, in 2025 it was only about 2 million.
Against the backdrop of economic and social depression, "Russian World" ideologue Alexander Dugin made grim forecasts, calling on Russians to prepare for the imminent end of the world.
