Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the Tuapse oil refinery in the Krasnodar region, the Tamanneftegaz oil and gas terminal, and the Temp strategic fuel depot in Rybinsk overnight on December 31.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the operation.
Attack drones hit the Tuapse refinery, sparking a fire. The strike damaged the ELOU-AVT-12 crude distillation unit and complex deep processing facilities. The export-oriented plant is one of Russia’s ten largest refineries, with an annual processing capacity of approximately 12 million tons.
At the Tamanneftegaz terminal near the village of Volna on the Taman Peninsula, hits were confirmed on two berths equipped with loading arms. The facility is used for the storage and transshipment of oil, petroleum products, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
The Temp federal facility in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl region—which stores strategic fuel reserves—was also hit, causing a massive fire at the site.
Additionally, Defense Forces struck a temporary river boat base near Olenivka in occupied Crimea, as well as ammunition depots near the settlements of Blyzhnie and Seyatel in the Donetsk region.
The full extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
