On Wednesday, November 12, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine suspended Herman Halushchenko from his position as Minister of Justice.
As reported by "Hvylya", Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel.
According to her, the corresponding decision was made during an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which took place this morning.
At the same time, Svyrydenko noted that the duties of the minister were assigned to the Deputy Minister of Justice for European Integration, Liudmyla Suhak.
"Today we held an extraordinary meeting of the Government. We decided to suspend Herman Halushchenko from his duties as Minister of Justice. The duties of the minister will be temporarily performed by Liudmyla Suhak," the Prime Minister wrote.
In turn, Halushchenko wrote on social media that he "completely agrees" with the government’s decision.
"A political decision needs to be made first, and only then sort out all the details. I am not clinging to the position of minister and will not cling to it. I believe that suspension during the investigation is a civilized and correct scenario," he emphasized.
He also noted that he "will defend himself legally and will prove his position."
MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak reacted to Halushchenko’s suspension from the post of Minister of Justice, noting that it means nothing.
"Our sources report that the b*stard Sigismund, also known as the Professor, also known as Halushchenko, will now be suspended from his position by the decision of the Government. This means absolutely nothing (just a weak political move); there must be a submission to the Rada for dismissal! Otherwise, as soon as everything calms down, he’ll be reinstated. The Minister of Energy and his associate Svitlana Hrynchuk remain unchanged. That means corruption will continue at full speed!" he stated.
The MP also stressed that the Prime Minister must urgently submit the dismissal of all the persons mentioned in the recordings.
"He wasn’t even suspended. Do they take us for fools?!!!! This is complete farce! Are you kidding? What does 'suspended' mean? He’ll continue to run the Ministry of Energy and control the flows through Hrynchuk! The Prime Minister must urgently submit the dismissal of all the persons mentioned in the recordings. First and foremost, his own ministers who were and are on Derkach’s agents’ payroll! The Rada must also vote on it the very first day! Or resign itself if it still has any shred of reputation left. They’re just treating the whole country like idiots who are supposed to accept this... This is just awful," Zhelezniak fumed.
He also commented on Halushchenko’s reaction to the suspension.
"A looter, a corrupt official, a man who first himself and later through his appointee Hrynchuk fulfilled every wish of Derkach’s agents and systematically, throughout the full-scale war, organized schemes worth hundreds of billions. He laughs in our faces and calls his fake suspension from the position of Minister of Justice a 'civilized and correct scenario' as his only punishment. I have no words. Just idiots who believe anyone will buy this. BOTH OF THESE B***S MUST RESIGN IMMEDIATELY!" the MP added.
