The "Ghosts" special unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR) has destroyed a Russian MiG-29 multi-role fighter at the Kacha military airfield in occupied Crimea. The operation was carried out on the night of December 4.
The strike was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
That same night, the "Ghosts" also struck an Irtysh airfield radar complex near temporarily occupied Simferopol.
The intelligence agency noted that its special units are systematically degrading Russian air defenses over the occupied peninsula by destroying radars and anti-aircraft systems, and now, Russian fighter jets.
This is not the first successful operation by the "Ghosts" against Russian aviation in Crimea. On September 21, 2025, the unit marked a historic first by destroying two Be-12 Chaika amphibious anti-submarine aircraft.
