The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on November 11 terminated early the powers of the Supervisory Board of NAEK "Energoatom." Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this.
"Today we made the first decisions to reboot NAEK 'Energoatom.' The government has terminated early the powers of the company's Supervisory Board," Svyrydenko stated.
According to her, in 2023 the government began corporate reform and selected the composition of the supervisory body through competition. The full range of influence levers - from appointing management to controlling the company's activities - lies with the Supervisory Board.
"It's important that the Government did not interfere in its activities. The Supervisory Board must bear responsibility for the situation in the company," the Prime Minister explained.
The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture must, within a week, in consultation with international partners, submit for Government approval a new composition of the Supervisory Board. The task of the new composition is to quickly reboot the leadership, conduct a full audit of the company, and provide comprehensive assistance to law enforcement agencies in investigating possible corruption.
Svyrydenko also instructed the State Audit Service to conduct an urgent audit of Energoatom, including procurement. The audit results will be transferred to law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies.
