Russian forces are preparing for further mass strikes on Ukraine's energy system, with intelligence reports indicating that enemy attacks are "evolving" into more dangerous, combined assaults.
As reported by "Hvylya", President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in his address marking the 1,454th day of the war.
The Head of State emphasized the necessity of optimizing air defense systems and urgently implementing agreements reached with partners in Munich. He warned that any delay in anti-missile supplies only increases the potential damage.
"Evil is also evolving, unfortunately. These are combined strikes that require special protection and appropriate support from partners," Zelensky noted.
The President also provided updates on the diplomatic front, noting that the Ukrainian delegation has arrived in Geneva for trilateral talks. Zelensky stressed that Ukraine has agreed to all realistic U.S. proposals, including a long-term ceasefire, but Russia continues to reject these initiatives while maintaining its assaults.
"Russia cannot resist the temptation of the final days of winter cold and wants to inflict painful blows on Ukrainians," he added.
The address also focused on personnel changes within the special services. Following reports from Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) representatives Yevhen Khmara and Oleksandr Poklad, the President set new objectives regarding internal security.
"Oleksandr Poklad will also take charge of purging the Security Service of Ukraine of those serving interests other than Ukraine's. We need tough actions and a truly strong Security Service," Zelensky stated.
Additionally, the President held a meeting on energy issues with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. An energy "Ramstein" format meeting is being prepared in France with the participation of G7 nations. New sanctions have also been imposed on Russian sports figures who support the aggression.
