US President Donald Trump stated that the Republican Party is preparing a bill on new sanctions against Russia.

According to Trump, the sanctions will target countries doing business with Moscow. He also emphasized that Iran could be added to this list.

"As you know, I proposed this, so any country that does business with Russia will be very strictly punished with sanctions. They might add Iran to that," the US leader stated.

Notably, on October 22, 2025, the US imposed sanctions against two major Russian oil companies - "Rosneft" and "Lukoil" - due to Russia's lack of serious commitments to the peace process to end the war in Ukraine.

It was previously reported that Trump found a "tap" to cut off Russian gas to Europe.

Meanwhile, an expert explained the Kremlin's tactics regarding a meeting between Trump and Putin.
