The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has appealed to citizens to ensure basic readiness for a potential energy emergency. Law enforcement officials recommend creating an autonomous reserve of resources at home sufficient for at least 3-5 days.
As reported by Hvylya, the agency's press service announced the recommendations.
The list of essentials includes drinking and technical water, non-perishable food, and a basic medicine kit. Special attention should be paid to packing an "emergency go-bag."
"It should contain documents, warm clothing, a first aid kit, heating supplies, personal hygiene items, and a necessary amount of cash," the MIA noted.
Drivers are also advised to check the technical condition of their vehicles and ensure they have fuel, while all citizens should keep backup power sources (power banks, charging stations) fully charged. Pet owners are reminded to stock up on food.
Separate recommendations concern preserving heat indoors during heating and power outages.
"Do not try to heat the entire apartment—stay in one room, preferably the smallest one. Dress in layers, use heaters, and maintain light physical activity," experts advise.
In a critical situation, if assistance or information about the nearest "Point of Invincibility" is needed, call 112.
If mobile connection is unavailable, the ministry offers an alternative communication method.
"Connect to Wi-Fi and contact emergency services via the '112 Ukraine' app," the message states.
